PlugPing is an app designed to remind Tesla owners when they forget to plug in their vehicle at home. It checks your Tesla's charging status and location—either via scheduled reminders or on-demand—and alerts you if your car is home but not plugged in.
PlugPing is planned to offer four reminder modes: Notification (a standard phone notification), Alarm (an alarm-style reminder), Smart Mode (notifications during the day and alarm-style reminders at night), and Silent (no audible reminder). Scheduled reminders are a separate planned feature that lets PlugPing check your vehicle automatically at a time you choose. Note: PlugPing cannot guarantee alarms will override silent mode or Do Not Disturb; this depends on your phone's operating system and settings.

No. PlugPing is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc. Tesla is a trademark of Tesla, Inc.
PlugPing will request only the minimum permissions needed:
- Vehicle device data - to check battery level and charging status
- Vehicle location - to determine if your car is at your saved home location
We do not plan to request permissions to unlock, start, or remotely control your vehicle.
Privacy is central to how we're building PlugPing. Our planned approach includes:
- Storing Tesla authentication tokens server-side, not in the app on your device
- Checking your vehicle only at specific times (scheduled reminders or on-demand requests), not continuously
- Requesting only read-only Tesla API permissions—no vehicle control
- Hosting infrastructure on Cloudflare

No. PlugPing is not designed to perform vehicle control. We do not plan to request permissions to:
- Unlock or lock your vehicle
- Start your vehicle
- Control charging (start, stop, or adjust)
- Open doors, trunk, or frunk
- Control climate or any other vehicle functions
We plan to request only read-only access to battery, charging status, and location—nothing more.
PlugPing will work with any Tesla vehicle that is compatible with the Tesla Fleet API, which includes Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck.
